Programming Services

I can write technical articles for your website, newsletter or magazine. Pricing is based on the requirements of the project; I'll give you a fair quote.

Website Maintenance
Your website is getting old and the information isn’t even current any more. Bring your site up to date and keep it that way with regular website maintenance. Single instance services or monthly maintenance contracts are available. I’d be glad to quote you a price.

Pay-Per-Click Advertising
We use the Google Adwords system to drive Pay-Per-Click traffic immediately. An Adwords account is set up using the customers’ credit card and the customer is given full access to the account but agrees to not change any keywords or settings. They can view the settings and run reports to learn about what is converting and what isn't. This helps the customer understand the process but is not required. Google will charge the customers credit card directly and we will bill separately for the 20% management fee. There is an additional $100 set-up fee for this service. Set-up includes inserting the tracking information to track ROI.

Search Engine Optimization
Typical 10 page site using 10 keywords/key phrases, one per page, costs between $500 and $750 the first month and $150 per month following. Customers can quit at any time following the initial application and the SEO application remains. All that is lost is the monthly reporting.

Cost is solved as a fixed $250 for initial phone consultation and site review, up to 1 hour, keyword analysis and initial reports plus an average of $50 per page at a rate of $50 per hour, average 1 hour per page. First month includes initial telephone consultation and site review the "Site Report" which consists of Google Page Rank, Google Backlinks, Alexa Traffic Ranking and Search Engine rankings for each selected keyword/key phrase for Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL and Ask. A "Recommended Changes Report" which details the changes to the site that are recommended. This report has one page for overall site changes and an additional page for each page of the site optimized detailing specific changes to be made to the page. These two reports are sent to the customer and a follow-up call, up to 1 hour, is made to review the proposed changes and make any adjustments based on customer feedback. Once the changes are approved, the customers’ entire site is downloaded via FTP and backed up to one CD-R as a snapshot of the site prior to any changes. At that time, all proposed changes are made to the site and the changes are updated to the customer site. At this point, an additional CD-R is created to archive the site including all changes made to the site as part of the initial SEO process.

Monthly fees are charged based on $50 plus $5 per page plus $5 per keyword. Customer receives a "Site Report" on or about the monthly anniversary of the SEO application. This allows the customer to view the progress garnered from the SEO effort. It should be understood that SEO is a slow process and can take between 90 and 180 days to take effect but that major improvements can be expected in search engine rankings for most sites. No SEO expert can assure first page listings for any keyword, but that is our goal and it is likely if the site provides quality content and the keywords are selected carefully so that they are targeted to the content. No one can artificially force high rankings, your site must deserve the rankings or it can't expect to receive or hold them. I can show you how to earn and maintain those top positions.

Site Map
One of the keys to great search engine positioning is getting the search engine spiders to crawl every page of the site and understand the content. A site map is the best answer to help assure that they have a specific key phrase associated with each page that defines the content. It also assures that every important page on the site is only two clicks deep. One click to get to the map and another to get to the inside page. The cost of a sitemap using a selected page of the site as a template is $50 plus $5 per link.

Reciprocal Links
An important part of any SEO effort is to convince the search engines that the site is popular. The best way to do that is to have great content and have other sites link to the site simply out of good will. Some sites will simply never get enough outside links to raise the sites popularity without taking proactive steps. There are a number of Reciprocal Link programs that exist and we can manage those accounts for a $100 set-up fee and a 20% management fee, $50 per program minimum. Some of these programs are free of cost and still effective but many are fee based and all require regular management. We can handle all the details including adding a links page and managing the relationships with the link vendors. For a fee of $50 per hour, we can also manage reciprocal links to specific sites outside the link programs.

Traffic Monitoring Service
We offer three levels of service. The first includes daily downloading and monthly archiving on CD of website log files. It also includes monthly updates to the Weblog Expert based traffic report and hosting of the report. The level 1 service is $50 per month plus $30 for each additional traffic report update as requested by the customer. Daily updates can be purchased for a total of $165 per month. The level 2 service requires a WebTrends license for each site. In addition to the license fee, the level one fees apply. Level 3 service requires an Urchin On Demand account. There is a $100 set-up fee plus $50 per month plus $50 per hour for any additional services requested by the customer.

Computer Set-up/Optimization
Just bought a new computer, or a whole office full of computers and realized that there is allot left to do after you plug it all in and turn it on? I can install software and tune your computer and Internet connection to help you get the very most out of your new investment. If your old computer is running slow, then I can help you find the right path to upgrade your computer to bring it up to a point where it is once again a productivity tool. You can hire a newbie from the geek squad to set up the basics for way too much money or you can hire a real guru with 26 years of experience and deep knowledge who can do it right. Fees are hourly at $50 per hour.

Software/Server Installations and Configuration
Don't make the mistake of installing or setting up that new server or new application incorrectly. As a long time Microsoft Universal level developer and registered Independent Software Vendor (Microsoft ISV Program) I have the experience needed to do the job right. Fees are hourly at $50 per hour.

Computer Repair
From software challenges to dead computers, I can fix any problem that might be ailing your computer. Fees are hourly at $50 per hour.

Computer Security and Elimination of Spyware, Adware & Viruses
Recent reports state that a computer need only be attached to the Internet for 20 minutes to get infected!!! It's amazing how vulnerable most people are and they don't even know it, they just notice their computer running slower and ads popping up all the time.  I can stop all that and return your compute to you while helping to protect it from ever getting infected again. Fees are hourly at $50 per hour.

Website Disaster Recovery
On demand backup of all website pages. Files are archived to CD-R and stored on our site, safely away from your servers. There is a $50 fee for each CD-R used for the backup. Backups should be performed each time major changes are made to the web site. Recovery fees are charged at $50 per hour and very depending on the circumstances of the disaster.

Training
Onsite training is available for travel expenses plus $400 a day for up to six people. Each additional person is $150 per day. One day is 8 hours and is the minimum purchase. Training materials are charged separately.

Additional Services and Hours
All additional services and hours are charge by the hour at a rate of $50 per hour. During backups, if the site requires more than one CD-R then an additional $50 per CD-R is charged. This may seem high for a $1 CD-R but it also covers human resources and the additional upload and download time and bandwidth required to move such a large site back and forth. Most services require that we have FTP access to the site.

Billing Policy
I give reasonable, email, phone and Instant Messenger support for free. Up to 14 minutes of time is always free for clients that do not abuse the opportunity. Time is billed in full one hour increments with the first hour not starting until 15 minutes have been spent working on your project. This way, you can ask simple questions or get simple changes at no cost at all. Invoices are delivered every Friday and are due upon receipt. We accept cash, company checks, most credit cards and PayPal. Bullet lists of the services rendered per day will be given along with the total hours spent per day, total for the week and total amount due.
